Garden Design Tips.
It is great fun to plan out your own designer garden. You can design the perfect garden to meet your needs! People will take great effort to personlise and create a unique look to their home, but often the garden is left to follow a standard design plan.
The following brief guides will hopefully provide you with some useful starting points for designing your own garden.
Flower Garden Design Tips:
A flower garden need not be based on the traditional design format. If you have limited space you can use a range of tubs and planters to create a very beautiful garden.
Using containers allows for a portable design feature, and you can change locations around to suit. If you are planting into prepared flowerbeds, consider the plant placement carefully as they will be a static feature in that respect. You can use annuals to the front and perennials toward the back of the beds. This will enable a flexible rotation of annual plants while allowing the perennial varieties good opportunity to become established with disturbance.
Proportion and balance should be considered in your design plan. The entire feel of the garden can be effected by one badly chosen plant, so it is a good idea to plan the scheme on paper before you start planting.
Using a lot of straight edges will give the garden a formal feel, rounded flower beds and soft flowering planting will help to give a more relaxed natural feel.
Consider how the garden will look in a few years time. Shrubs and tress will have grown, and the garden will have a more blended appearance.
Avoid overcrowded planting schemes, and try to incorporate access to maintain the beds and planting areas in your design.
