Garden Design Tips.
It is great fun to plan out your own designer garden. You can design the perfect garden to meet your needs! People will take great effort to personlise and create a unique look to their home, but often the garden is left to follow a standard design plan.
The following brief guides will hopefully provide you with some useful starting points for designing your own garden.
Landscape Designs:
When planning a design for your garden, consider the end result you are trying to achieve. Are you aiming for a profession formal garden or a natural woodland garden, or cottage garden? Perhaps you are considering redesigning your backyard to include some planting schemes? The choice will depend on the space you have available, the location and your personal tastes.
A good starting point is to plan the design on paper. This will help you to plan things carefully, consider unity, proportion, balance and variety. Unity links the planting together and will also help the balance of the design. Proportion will be directly related to your available space.
Variety of planting is important. It will help to give your garden, points of interest and colour.
Your design should also take into account the look of the house, and any structures. Natural elements such a trees can also be incorporated into the design.
Symmetry will help to give a design balance, flexible use of different plant types and sizes will help to give a natural feel. Strict symmetry in a design will give the garden a formal look.
