Garden Design Tips.
It is great fun to plan out your own designer garden. You can design the perfect garden to meet your needs! People will take great effort to personlise and create a unique look to their home, but often the garden is left to follow a standard design plan.
The following brief guides will hopefully provide you with some useful starting points for designing your own garden.
Vegetable Gardens:
A traditional use for a garden, but it does not have to stick to the standard design plan. You can grow vegetables in container based situations, so limited space need not be a problem.
Growing the vegetables in an easy to control environment such as a half-barrel tub, will mean that you can give them the best level of care without major maintenance.
Raised bed gardening is another design plan you may like to try.
You can create raised planting beds for growing vegetables (or flowers) out of just about any material. The simplest way is to use pressure treated (for durability) lumber to create a box at least 8-12 inches deep in any dimension that suits your needs. Raised beds can also be created out of railway sleepers, brick, concrete block, rock.
Raised bed gardening is especially productive if the normal soil quality is poor, as you can fill the bed with good quality planting compost and create the perfect environment for the plants.
