You should also seek professional advice from suppliers in your local area, they will be able to help you with any specific questions that you may have.
Keeping Pot Bellied Pigs
If you have the space in your garden or plot of land, you may consider keeping a Pot Bellied Pig as a pet. You should remember that they live to an age of 15 years or above.
Pot bellied pigs are relatively straight forward to care for, they are generally well behaved, very clean and learn very quickly. They do require a commitment on your part, and you should only consider keeping them as a pet if you have the time, space, and ability to look after them correctly.
Pot bellied pigs can be allowed into the house, and will behave in a similar fashion to a dog. You should ensure that the environment is safe for the pig, and also that you have not left anything around that it can get into, trapped by, or try to eat, that may harm it.
A pet pig of this type will require visits to the vet, and you should have it spayed or neutered as soon as possible, if you have decided to purchase one. Other considerations are vacations and appropriate care facilities if you are away on holiday etc.
There are many books that will help you to gain further knowledge about the essential aspects of keeping a Pot Bellied pig.
