User tips for trimmers and Ryobi strimmers
Before using a trimmer or Ryobi strimmer, make sure you are familiar with the manual, and are confident in completing the particular garden job. For safety, also remember that any rotating cutting tools can throw objects or cut the operator. Trimmers and strimmers can be equally as dangerous.A/ Make sure you read through, understand, and adhere to instructions in the Ryobi strimmer manufacturer's operating manual.
B/ Hold the trimmer or strimmer firmly with both hands.
C/ Before use be sure that the throttle lever springs back to idle position.
D/ Check that the blades or cord coil is adjusted properly and is tight.
E/ Select equipment with anti-vibration components. If you are using this for jobs in the larger home garden, you will be thankful you chose the right Ryobi strimmer.
F/ Replace bent, warped, damaged or dull cutting apparatus.
The right clothing for Ryobi strimmer and trimmer use
A/ Sturdy and well-fitting overalls, jeans or long pants.
B/ You can quite easily obtain heavy-duty, non-slip gloves.
C/ Safety boots with non-slip soles,
D/ safety goggles, or face screen and safety glasses. If you are using these items for large jobs hearing protection (muffs or plugs) could also be useful.
Checklist for using grass trimmers and Ryobi strimmers
A/ Keep people (especially children) away from starting and strimmer operating areas.
B/ Check area for stones, glass, metal and debris. Clear before strimmer use.
C/ Refuel the Ryobi strimmer engine before starting work. The engine needs to be cool to do this. If refuelling is required before the job is completed, make sure you wait for the engine to cool. Fuel will often splash on to the hot engine.
D/ Replace or tighten all loose or damaged Ryobi strimmer parts or guards. This is particularly important for high powered strimmers which can take metal blades.
E/ If using an electric strimmer, know where the cable is at all times. F/ Start the strimmer or trimmer on firm ground or other solid surfaces in an open area.
G/ Unless you adjust the harness to suit the working position it will become uncomfortable very quickly.
H/ Use a Ryobi strimmer at ground level only.
I/ Shut off strimmer engine before cleaning out clogged or stuck cutter.
J/ Stop the engine before putting the strimmer or trimmer down.
K/ Disconnect the spark plug when the equipment is left unattended.
L/ Secure cutter to prevent fuel spillage and damage during transport.
Final pointers for Ryobi strimmer and trimmer use.
A/ Do not leave the Ryobi strimmer running unattended.
B/ Do not wear short trousers or short sleeves whilst operating.
C/ Do not use metal blades in stony areas.
D/ Do not overreach. Ensure proper footing and balance at all times.
E/ Do not repair damaged Ryobi strimmer attachments - discard them.
Your Ryobi strimmer or trimmer will give you the finish in your garden you are looking for. Always consider safety.
